dave disanto teaching crawling to a movement class

Dave DiSanto

has been practicing yoga for over 12 years, teaching for 5 and simply obsessed with movement since 2015.

“As long as I can remember I’ve always been motivated to see what the human mind and body is capable of. The idea of having limitations was always an unsettling one. I wanted to be the one dictating to my body what I could accomplish rather than my body putting limits on my life’s experience. In 2008 I accomplished my first Ironman Triathlon and something changed, a shift in consciousness that said from now on nothings impossible. During the next few years I would go on to complete the Triple Crown of hiking, having completed thru-hikes of the Appalachian Trail, Pacific Crest Trail and Continental Divide Trails as well as the Grand Enchantment Trail, nearly 10,000 miles of hiking...and counting.

As a personal trainer I’ve had the opportunity to work with individuals with various disabilities, the elderly and as of recent many talented young athletes. My approach varies but can be easily summed up with one word, “MOVE”.

2015 marked my first experience studying the “Ido Portal Method”. Since then I would say I’ve become obsessed with the new perspectives and freedoms it has presented me. I’ve travelled to Thailand twice for a yearly Movement Camp which hosts the worlds best movers from around the world to gather together and learn from some of the best teachers across the world as well, all sharing one common thread, a love for exploring human movement.

My goal now is to create a culture of hard working, focussed individuals and share the knowledge, passion and experience with others that has allowed me to experience so much in life.”

Abbey Tambini (Tuesday 9am-10am)

has been a dedicated yogi for the past five years. I first came to my mat with the expectation of a great workout and to make cool shapes. Yoga began to instantly make me stronger but what kept me coming back to my mat was my calmer state of being and my heightened concept of body awareness. As I began to experience taking my practice off the mat I felt myself become more unified in mind, body, and spirit. Eventually the inversions, arm balances, and binds joined my practice as well but I am so grateful to also have experienced the immense power of a great, big deep breath and a still mind.
Yoga was and still is changing my life for the better and I knew I was meant to share this practice with others. I received my RYT 200 Hour Certification through Sanctuary Yoga & Mindfulness in Center City, Philadelphia in 2019. I am passionate about helping yogis find their strongest version of a pose through correct alignment and self expression. It is my goal for students to move their bodies in a safe and strengthening way during a practice that leaves you both grounded and uplifted.
I look forward to helping students dive deeper into their yoga practice. There is always an uncharted depth waiting for you on your mat. Let’s explore!

Abbey is available for yoga privates by appointment. Please email the studio @ dave08022@yahoo.com for more information.

Ilana Torres (Tuesday 6:30pm-7:30pm)

interest in yoga was piqued as a young child, as she watched her mother do yoga off of VCR tapes. Throughout high school and college she practiced yoga on and off, focusing primarily on running and powerlifting. She ran a half marathon in high school and while in college, competed at 2 local and 2 national USAPL powerlifting competitions with Rutgers’ Powerlifting Team! Because of this, she is well-versed in many kinds of strength training as well as recovery techniques. During COVID, as gyms were closed, she took this time to dive deeper into yoga and meditation. She attended Balanced Planet Yoga’s 200 hour YTT in 2021, graduating that June and jumped right into BPY’s 50 hour Yin YTT, graduating in July of 2021. Since then, she continued her education in Bhakti, trauma informed, and metaphysical yoga at Palo Santo Yoga in July 2022. She is constantly learning more on her own, at studios, and from her students! Ilana loves teaching a powerful vinyasa flow combined with juicy stretches, and is excited and honored to be hosting the Tuesday 6:30pm class at YMT.

Alison Judah (Saturdays, 9am-10am)

Alison started her yoga journey about 15 years ago with hot yoga when a friend suggested they try something new and she realized she found a passion. As she tried different forms of yoga, Alison realized that Vinyasa Flow was the practice that she enjoyed the most. Deciding to delve deeper into yoga practice and traditions, she received her 200 hour teacher training in 2009. She also is certified to teach Aerial and Yin yoga. Always interested in continuing her yoga education, Alison has taken courses with a variety of experienced teachers including Jason Crandel and Kathryn Budig.

“Yoga is about movement and physical awareness, but it also holds deeper meaning in its philosophy and helps illuminate how we can be better humans in our every day life. I enjoy teaching a class with creative flows to help strengthen and challenge the student. Having classes that are not routine, helps keep us using our minds to be present on our mats. I hope that my classes can add enjoyment to your practice because yoga should be a happy release where we do not take ourselves too seriously. You are giving yourself precious time on the mat and you do not have to judge yourself at that time.”

Alison is also an artist, loves reading and movies, and has a marketing company with her husband.

Wendy Berrevoets

(Massage Therapist)

Has been a licensed Massage Therapist for 19 years and a yoga instructor for 9.

I love massages and yoga because of how it has helped me heal personally but mainly for how I can help others heal physically, mentally and spiritually.

One of my favorite quotes is “The dark past is the greatest possession you have - the key to life and happiness for others”

I have experienced a lot of accidents and injuries throughout my life and massage was the main factor in my healing process. I became obsessed with learning the connection between the body and the mind. After 900 hours of Massage Therapy training I have continued my education in many different modalities such as reiki, reflexology, Thai massage and many more. In the 19 years of my massage career, 11 of those were teaching at Harris School of Business. While teaching massage, I witnessed others heal and grow in different ways from my experiences and knowledge of the body systems.

My goal is to help others to the best of my ability, through massage and yoga.

has been working as a yoga instructor for Core Power Yoga, Summer of 2017 to present. She’s taught 4 Teacher Trainings at CPY and continues to be an enthusiast of both a personal practice as well as aiding others in growing physically and educationally.

She has branched out to teaching private sessions as well as large group experiences at locations like Athleta and LuLuLemon. Stacey took over teaching the monthly Core Restore class at CPY which is a combination of restorative yin postures and applied a 25 minute guided meditation with the assistance and guidance of Co-owner Kate Motes from Balanced Planet Yoga in Marlton, NJ.

Stacey enjoys collaborating with other instructors to create blissed out experiences like Handstand Workshops as well as Arm Balancing and other Inversion workshops. She enjoys integrating them into sequences as well as weaving the chakras and myths of the asanas into classes as well.

Catch her on her mat, she’s been a yogi practitioner for well over a decade. She loves to practice with her students but her true passion lies in helping a new student find their edge.

2019 marks the beginning of Stacey’s introduction to The Yoga and Movement Training Center. She is a practitioner of the movement classes as well as an instructor at the studio introducing a slow flow class onto the schedule as of this Summer. Her goal is to continue to move her body every day and dig deeper into the movement culture so she can explore new thresholds. “Yoga has offered me the opportunity to knock down doors that I never thought possible! I am at my strongest physically, more so than ever before and the mental clarity that yoga has to offer has lead me to live a life of peace and tranquility. That in turn, I wish to give back to my students.”

LeeAnn Cipriano (sub)

has been practicing yoga for 6 years and teaching for 4. “Movement wasn’t a big thing in my life until I started playing sports in high school. From there I got into strength training and yoga. Working out and practicing yoga started to become a major part of my day. Coming from a family not big on exercise or sports, this was huge.

I began to love challenging myself, learning new things and getting stronger. I discovered a whole new confident and strong part of myself and realized I was capable of more than I could imagine. I completed a 200HR yoga teaching certification course at the American Yoga Academy in Summit, New Jersey and began teaching at various studios as a freshman in college. With my interest in health and fitness I went to college to pursue a degree in health and exercise science and am now certified with the NSCA’s Certified Specialist certification as well. Being able to share yoga (as well as strength training) with people is a privilege. I am excited to continue sharing with anyone who wants to start or continue learning their yoga journey!
